Barrel Nut, Standard

  • 1277

If you are building a down and dirty basic AR-15 or plan on using a Magpul fore-grip you just might need a standard OEM style barrel nut. These bad boys are threaded on and tightened with out armorer's wrenches. The ingenuity of the design is that the gas tube goes through the notches in the outer edge, effectively locking the nut in place.

  • Blackened steel construction
  • Mil-spec

You get:

  1. (1) barrel nut

Compatible with:

  • Mil-spec barrels
  • Mil-spec lowers
  • Mil-spec armorers wrenches

Installation Difficulty:

Tools required: Extreme pressure grease, armorers wrench, 1/2" drive torque wrench

Installation notes: It's not too bad, Make sure she's lubed up in case you ever need to remove it. Aim to torque it to 35 foot-pounds but not more than 80. in some cases these need to be shimmed forward to allow adjustment of the hand guard and the receiver. We sell barrel nut shims that do that if needed
