Product Description
So you bought an AD-500 and found that the muzzle is not threaded. Bummer
You also find that the super tall and strange front site is not needed when you run an optic so it's not needed.
We've got a solution for you, Unscrew the front sight post (a couple of flat head screws) then pop this bad boy in the muzzle. It will help you to simply run a 11/16-24 die on the muzzle end of the barrel to cut some threads in a DIY fashion.
The AD-500 barrel outside diameter is typically around 0.670" damn near perfect for cutting 11/16-24 threads. Might not be a perfect solution but you could use a 11/16-24 to 5/8-24 thread adapter on there to get the thread pitch you want without any expensive gunsmithing services, shipping and such.
If you still want the OEM front sight on the AD-500, you can reinstall it after the threading.
Use some good threading oil or grease to help the die along.
There is a video in the video section of this page to help guide you through the process
This tool is used to help with the alignment of Ad-500 muzzle threading. It has the thread on the outside to align a 11/16-24 die onto the muzzle while being aligned with the bore.
Essentially the situation is you want to put some muzzle threads on your AD500 in a diy type situation.
You can usually run a 11/16-24 die directly on the muzzle of the barrel in front of the front sight.
These cheap tools will make sure you have a precise alignment while making those threads.
