This is quite simply a simple little file set for fine-tuning or smoothing burrs or whatever you need. This type of file is great for normal materials like aluminum, steel, plastic, etc but prolly won't fair so well with very hard stuff like tool steel. Not that I need to say this, but filing the surface of a part will damage the coating (paint, oxide, anodize, etc). This set includes several different profiles for getting into all the hard-to-reach spots. You can even use them as picks.
