Product Description
So you think you're a gun smith eh
(That's what I said many moons ago when I made my first barrel for a rem 700)
This is the perfect opportunity for you then
We are selling raw barrel blanks from the machine shop
These are 20" long 4150 steel (propper barrel steel)
Machining ops done include:
- Both ends faced off
- Both ends skimed for gundrill prep
- Gun drill
- Reamed
- Button rifled
- Stress releived (the barrels are slightly blackened from this process)
To use these, you need to cut a chamber and some sort of feature to attach the barrel to the receiver of the firearm at minimum.
Tech tip of the day: The gun drill starts from the end with the stampings on it. Gun drills wander a few thou over 20" so the hole at the unstamped end is not concentric with the OD. This is why you turn between centeres to fix this.
