Product Description
This liquid is used for re-blackening small scratches on anodized aluminum at room temperature.
The resulting colour will vary from dark gray to black depending on the alloy and how much the exposed surface has oxidized.
You get: (1) Bottle Compatible with: Most aluminum alloys including 7075 Tools required: Cotton swabs/q-tips Installation Tips: For a successful application it is critical to get the surface very clean first. Remove dirt and oils with alcohol, mineral spirits, acetone, or other solvent. Then use a cotton swab or q-tip to apply a few drops of the aluminum black to the scratch, rub it in and really soak it. Avoid dipping the same q-tip in the bottle after application to prevent contaminating the supply. Wait for the workpiece to turn black. Gently blot off extra liquid with another clean swab. Remove any residue with a solvent or lubricant. Repeat as necessary to get the desired colour. You can also use a wire or string to dip small parts directly into the bottle, but the entire part must be thoroughly clean and dried of solvents. Some people report better results when heating the part just before applying the chemical.
