Instead of those annoying c-clips and e-clips, this dust cover rod simply has the tip (just the tip) knurled which is enough to make it thick enough that it won't slide through the receiver. For you that means no more messing with clips, just slide the rod in from the front and after you install the handguard it will captured it in place.This is just another real world example where girth means everything.
