This is a black finished steel thread adapter for the end of your barrel if you for some reason want to install a larger muzzle device on your barrel (might save you from buying multiple muzzle devices) or you've got a weird thread that you need converted to a more common thread for muzzle devices.
If you have a Metric-threaded barrel you'll want to look at this product.
The sizes are expressed as the barrel size and then the muzzle device size. So a 1/2"-28 to 5/8"-24 adapter means it's for connecting a 1/2"-28 barrel to a 5/8"-24 muzzle device.
These are ideal for guys and gals looking to put a readily available muzzle device on a 9mm upper or something else a bit less common
